The Lake Arthur High School (LAHS) Jr High Tiger All-Stars cheer/dance team recently held their tryouts for the new 2018-2019 team. There were 22 cheer hopefuls and two manager candidates who attended a short try-out clinic with the team’s coach, Ashley Lutyhe, prior to the tryouts. The two-day clinic was set up to help the candidates learn the dance routine, jump sequence, group cheer, and any technical skills needed. Each hopeful was required to demonstrate their own chant, which they came up with on their own, as well as a running tumbling sequence and also standing tumbling.

Idon’t know about you, but I am so glad it’s finally spring. I look forward to this time all year long.

I’m not sure why it is but I just feel better during the three-month stretch between late March and early June.

Maybe it’s the flowers in bloom, the bright sun set in a cloudless sky or even the smell of freshly mowed grass.

There are a lot of things to enjoy about being outside during this time of year, and that’s coming from someone who, for as much as he dislikes being outdoors, may as well be a vampire.

tHe WaY i see it

Ibelieve that heroes are not born but made through circumstance. However, not everyone in the circumstance will become the hero.

When a protest was held in Washington, D.C., by the illegal aliens in this country, I wondered if someone on Capitol Hill would stand up for us but no one did. Not one pantywaist congressman or congresswoman stood up and said that these protesters are illegals; arrest them; deport them; or throw them in jail. Instead, they cowered in their ivory towers and did nothing and they have done nothing since.
