JHS Band Boosters to hold cake bingo

The public is invited to attend a fundraising event hosted by the Jennings High School Band Boosters.

A cake bingo, beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall on La. 102.

The event will continue until all cakes are distributed.

“Our main goal is to raise funds in order to pay the salaries of extra instructors and a color guard assistant,” said Booster Club president Joni Reed.

Reed said they need instructors in order to give the students the best experience and the opportunities they deserve.

Man calls 911 while hallucinating

IOWA - An Iowa man was charged with calling 911 multiple times while hallucinating on narcotics.

On Saturday, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Jeff Davis Road in Iowa on a criminal mischief complaint, according to Jeff Davis Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Chris Ivey.

“A caller made four separate calls to the 911 emergency center and would not answer questions,” Ivey said. “The male caller would only make short comments and stated he wanted to take a ride.”

“These are some of the staple brands and yes, they’re back,” said Williams, 49, who works at a GM plant in Romulus, Michigan, southwest of Detroit. “They’re just not being made in the U.S.”
