CADE - Just a day after defeating ESA via the 10-run rule in a district 7-B contest, the Lacassine Cardinals proved they could win in a close contest as well. The two teams went at each other in the second of two district match-up’s and found themselves in a pitcher’s dual that carried into extra innings. Ultimately, it was Cardinal ace Jace Bageux and his club that scratched across a run in the top of the eighth inning to win 1-0. After the Cardinals plated the run in the top of the eighth that broke a 0-0 ball game, the junior right-hander struck out the side in the bottom of the eighth to complete the league sweep of the Falcons.
