SULPHUR – The Jennings Bulldogs used a huge offensive explosion to erupt for a 62-42 district-opening win over the St. Louis Saints at Matt Walker Stadium in Sulphur. The Bulldog offense churned out over 530 yards of total offense in the win by having three backs all go over the 100-yard mark in the rushing department. The Dogs broke open a close contest in the fourth quarter by scoring 21 points in the final stanza to pull away from what was a 42-35 lead at the end of three quarters. Jammaric McZeal spearheaded the rushing attack for the Dogs by accumulating right at 225 yards on the ground and three TD’s, while freshman Re’John Zeno earned his first 100-yard varsity game by registering 129 stripes and two TD’s. Just for good measure, senior quarterback Trevor Etienne rushed for 116 stripes and three TD’s, and also tossed the pigskin for 82 yards.
