A two-man crew recently began preparations to give the façade of the Strand Theatre in Jennings a new look. The outside will get a fresh coat of paint in a brand new color scheme and work will be done to fix the marquee.

The Jennings High softball team was looking to rebound from an extra inning loss to South Beauregard Tuesday night when they hosted the Crowley Ladies at Tom Precht Field Jennings scored 10 runs in the 2nd inning to help them take a 15-0 win in four innings. Lady Dogs pitchers Kylie Price and Molly Person combined for a no hitter in the shut out win.

Late surge lifts Lady Indians to win over Reeves, 11-9

ELTON — The Elton Lady Indians picked up their third win of their first season of softball here Tuesday night as they toppled the Reeves Lady Raiders by a final score of 11-9. With the win, the Lady Indians moved their overall record to 3-8. Elton hitters pounded out 10 hits in the win, led by Kaya Francis and Dynver Gradney who both collected three hits apiece. Francis also blasted a home run in the win. Ali Baker picked up the win in the circle by only allowing three earned runs and struck out six Reeves hitters.
