I grew up as the oldest of seven, with five adopted siblings and one biological sibling. I was sitting with my siblings at a McDonalds once when approached by a woman inquiring about the parentage of my siblings — specifically if I was the mother. I was 10 at the time and knew instantly that she was just being nosy, just like most of the strangers who approached me and asked me about my family.

Shortly after I turned 18 in December of 1979, I marched myself down to the local firehouse down the street in Llanerch, Pa. and registered as a Democrat. In those days, nothing was done online, and it was a solemn moment when I signed the application and became a full member of civic society.

recent poll showed that one in three A Louisianians think walking dogs every day should be a legal requirement. In addition, 43 percent believe that dog owners should be banned for life from owning pets if they refuse to walk or exercise their dogs.
