MANSURA – The Lake Arthur Lady Tigers found themselves in familiar territory Friday when they hit the road to Avoyelles Parish for the chance to return to the LHSAA’s Marsh Madness State Tournament. To advance back to “Big Dance”, they would have to go up and try to avenge one of only six defeats in their season. In the way of their trip back to Hammond was the No. 4-ranked Avoyelles Public Charter Lady Vikings (APC). The Lady Vikings had defeated Lake Arthur in their third contest of the season by a final of 52-43, however it would be a whole different story in the rematch.

BATON ROUGE — The Jennings Lady Bulldogs basketball season ended Thursday night as their 4th period rally against the Madison Prep Lady Chargers fell short. After the No.4 Lady Chargers took an 18-3 lead in the 1st period, the No.5 Lady Dogs would begin to rally in the next 3 periods. With 3 minutes left in the game, the Lady Dogs trailed 53-52, but Madison would make 8 of their 10 free throws to help them to their 65-58 quarterfinal win.
