WESTLAKE – After dropping their first game to the Westlake Rams on Tuesday 5-3, the Jennings Bulldogs got a little revenge by walking off the Rams on Thursday by a final of 4-3 to end the district slate. Rainy conditions all week forced the Dogs and Rams to play both games on Westlake’s newly renovated turf field, but Jennings would serve as the home team in Thursday’s affair.

Duhon fans 16 in Lady Dogs’ 10-2 win over LCCP

SULPHUR – The only thing that came close to stopping Jennings Lady Dogs pitcher Elyse Duhon from striking out batters was the rain, but that lasted only 20 minutes. The junior pitcher struck out 16 batter, helping Jennings to a 10-2 district win over the Lake Charles College Prep Lady Trailblazers Wednesday at Sulphur’s Frasch Park.

In the first inning, Jennings batted six, with Karman Bradley stealing home on a wild pitch to take a 1-0 lead. LC Prep would bat four, getting a walk and then going out with three strikeouts.

Moncrief signs letter of intent

Keagan Moncrief of West Monroe recently signed to play basketball at the collegiate level with Pearl River Community College in Poplarville, Miss.

He is the son of Michael and Chianti Dawn Harris-Moncrief and the grandson of his biggest supporters, Valerie Abraham of Jenning and the late Bradley Abraham.
