The Jennings Bulldogs went toe-totoe with the powerful 5A Barbe Bucs in their annual preseason tilt Thursday in Jennings, and showcased a stellar defense in controlling the always-potent Barbe attack. The scrimmage format featured each offense having two 15-play sets, and was capped off by a live portion of gamelike situations with coaches on the sidelines to close things out.

WELSH - The Elton Indians and the Welsh Greyhounds began their run towards the regular gridiron season here by scrimmaging against each other. The two teams departed from the normal scrimmage routine, as they used a real game format with kickoffs, punting and four downs to make a first down.
