Charles ‘CL’ Delahoussaye
Funeral services for Mr. Charles “CL” Delahoussaye, 83, will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, in Miguez Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. Dore Langley officiating.
Mr. Delahoussaye died at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, in Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Mr. Delahoussaye’s wishes were to be cremated.
He was a native of Lacassine but lived most of his life between Jennings and Vinton. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired electrician. He enjoyed traveling in his RV and loved playing basketball, where he played independent ball into his 50s. He loved doing volunteer work for his community and his church. He was deacon at First Baptist Church in Vinton for many years. He also loved spending time with his family and friends. He was very much a people person.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Dugas of Jennings; four daughters, JoBeth Gerard of Bulverde, Texas, Patti Sue Dyer (William) of Acworth, Ga., Linda Sepulveda of Von Ormy, Texas, and Annette Staffieri (Tom) of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; two sons, Charles A. “Chip” Delahoussaye of Vinton and Mark Staffieri of Riverview, Fla.; one sister, Henri Ella Parnigoni of Diamondhead, Miss.; one brother, George Delahoussaye (Vanese) of Houston, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ella Lopez Delahoussaye; his first wife and mother of his children, Patricia DeVilbiss Delahoussaye, sons-inlaw, Thomas Gerrard and Felo Sepulveda; three sisters, Leora Holmes, Alberta Miller and Betty Veselica; and one brother, Dave Delahoussaye.
The family would like to thank the Veterans Home in Jennings, LAMM Hospice and his caregiver, Lacey Touchet.
