Ella Mae Domingue
It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Ella Mae Domingue announces her passing from this life on Dec. 8, 2018, at the age of 84.
Funeral services were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, at 1 p.m., with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating.
At the request of her family, visitation was held at the funeral home beginning on Sunday, Dec. 9,, from 3 p.m. until her funeral service on Monday. A prayer service was recited on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
Ella was laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery.
Ella was born on Sept. 23, 1934 in Evangeline to Delino Teal and Mary Lanthier Teal. She dedicated her life to taking care of her family. In her free time, Ella, loved to go fishing and hunt for turtles. She also enjoyed going to the casino, listening to French nusic, shopping and walking. Most of all, Ella loved to spend quality time with her family and friends. She will be missed and cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Ella is survived by seven children, Helen (Forrest) Kibodeaux of Lake Arthur, Norma Sou Clement of Jennings, John Robert Domingue of Jennings, Linda (Willie) LeJeune of Welsh, Brenda Hardesty of Welsh, Mary Landry of Jennings and Anna (Russell) LaFosse of Lake Arthur; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and sisters, Clara Benoit of Jennings, Yvonne Lampers of Kinder and Ethel Doucet of Lake Arthur.
Ella was preceded in death by parents, Delino and Mary L. Teal; son, Rocky Domingue; brothers, Milton C. Teele, Melvin Teal, Leroy Teal and Willard Teal; and sister, Mae Teal.
Carrying Ella to her final resting place in Calvary Cemetery were Alve Landry, Albert Hardesty, Jr., John R. Domingue, Arley Hanks, Daylon Guidry and William Aucoin.
Honorary pallbearer was Chris Mott.
