Florence Crochet Doucet

JENNINGS — Florence Crochet Doucet was born on July 18, 1933, to Pete Crochet and Azalia Babineaux Crochet in Roanoke and she was called to her Heavenly Father on Jan. 11, 2024 at the beautiful age of 90. She was a homemaker who dedicated her life to the care of her family, as well as working as a cafeteria worker. She loved to cook and bake homemade bread. Florence was a faithful and devout member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Her faith was strong. She always had her rosary with her and she always prayed for all of her kids and grandkids. Florence had a very outgoing personality. She loved to socialize. You could always find her at a ball game. When she wasn’t at a ball game, you could find her cooking or baking bread for her family or sewing, which she enjoyed as well. Her greatest joys came from spending time with all of her family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a loving and kind woman who will be dearly missed by all who know and loved her.

Florence is now rejoicing in heaven with her parents, Pete and Azalia Crochet; her husband of 54 years, Willard Doucet; her son, Jacob Ronald Doucet; her daughter, Jessica Renee Bouley; her sisters, Onelia “Black” Gary, Onita “Nita” Crochet, Mazie Landry, Bertha Smith; her brothers, Amelian “Dago” Crochet, Edwin Crochet, Walter Crochet, Lawrence Crochet.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Florence Crochet Doucet of Jennings will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Hathaway on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the Doucet Cemetery.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings beginning on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2024 from 3-9 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Hathaway at 8 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Mass.
