Celebration of Life services for James Earl Boutte, 40, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at Semien-Lewis Mortuary in Jennings. James’ brother-in-law, Reverend Clinton Perry, will officiate.

Visiting with family and friends will be held in the chapel from 9-11 a.m.

Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary.

James passed away Jan. 13, 2022, at a Lake Charles Hospital following a brief illness.

James was born Jan. 19, 1981, to Carlis and John Berchman Boutte, Sr.

He received the Sacrament of Baptism at an early age at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

James had a commercial driver’s license and was hard worker, driving cement trucks in Southwest Louisiana.

When he wasn’t pouring cement, he was living his passion as a disc jockey “DJ” in the surrounding area.

James was giving of himself, always helping people in need. His famous saying was, “It’s gonna be ok.”

James leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Carlis Boutte of Jennings; his sisters, Rachel Boutte, Sondra Boutte, Sophia (Clinton) Perry and Rebecca Lynn Boutte, all of Jennings, and Jonetta Boutte of Oklahoma City; his brothers, John Berchman Boutte, Jr., of Oklahoma City and Raymond Johnson of Jennings; his aunt, Bertha Perkins of Jennings; his nephews, Jaylon (Taylor) Boutte and Jamal Boutte of Jennings, and Aaron Boutte of Lake Charles; his godchild, Alizah Rogers of Lake Arthur; his niece, Katelyn Boutte; his companion, Mia Albert; and a host of other relatives and friends.

James was preceded in death by his father, John Berchman Boutte, Sr.; his nephew, Trevian Boutte; his aunt, Rita Mouton; his mother and father-in-law, Mary and Popeye Miller.
