Janice Robinson Lopez
Janice Robinson Lopez, 64, of Lafayette passed away at 2:52 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2022, in a Lafayette hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2020, in Johnson Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. Steve Shirley officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will begin Monday from 4-8 p.m. and will resume Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the start of the service.
An inurnment will be held at 2 p.m. at Bertrand Cemetery in Hathaway.
Mrs. Lopez was born May 31, 1957, in Columbus, Ohio. She was raised in Lake Charles, where she was a graduate of Barbe High School and currently lived in Lafayette. She was a licensed cosmetologist by trade.
In her earlier years, she participated in the PTA for her children’s elementary school and later in the Booster Club for their high school. Mrs. Lopez was of the Methodist faith.
She and her husband loved to travel and had the opportunity to live abroad in England. While there, she was able to travel to numerous countries. Mrs. Lopez looked forward to her annual trip to Key West with her friends. She was a very crafty lady, learning how to knit and crochet. Her latest craft was making jewelry for family and friends, as well as nurses who took care of her late husband. She was proud of holding the title of Madame LaFitte in 2019 through 2021.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Kyle Lopez of Louisville, Ken., Kasey Lopez (Lesley) of Youngsville and Kayley Lopez of Lafayette; beloved grandson Kullen Lopez; siblings Patty Greenwell (David), Beverly Robinson and John Robinson and a sister-in-law, Teresa Foreman.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Karl Lopez; her parents, Dorothy and Herbert Robinson; brother Richard Robinson; in-laws and a brother-in-law, Richard Foreman.
