Wilson Joseph Landry
Funeral services for Mr. Wilson Joseph Landry, 88, of Jennings will be held at 11 a.m.Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022, in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, with Father William Miller officiating.
Visitation began Monday from 3-8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation resumed today, Tuesday, at 8 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.
Burial will follow in Doucet Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Mr. Wilson Landry was born at home in Woodlawn on Nov. 23, 1933, to Leafreay and Estelle Debarge Landry.
His employment included farming, meat packing, Cameron Construction, Shell and Blume Tree Services before retiring from Welsh Equipment.
Those left to cherish his memory are four daughters, Bonnie Landry of Iowa, Kathryn Watson and husband John of Jennings, Julia LeBlanc and husband Wes of Roanoke and Sandra Cary of Hathaway; five sons, Myron Wayne Landry and wife Paula of Jennings, Paul Landry and wife Renee of Kinder, Tim Landry and wife Chantal of Iowa, Wilson Dean Landry and wife Pam of Hathaway and Steven Landry and wife Daphne of Iowa; 26 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Claude Landry of Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Laura Gary Landry; his parents; his brothers, L.J. and Hulin Landry; his sisters, Marie Vidrine, Rosa Mae Vidrine, Florence Chapman and Cora LeBleu; and one great-granddaughter, Loren Landry.
Pallbearers will be Blaine Landry, Brandon Landry, Benjamin Watson, Ryan Cary, Dustin Landry and Chris LeBlanc.
Honorary pallbearers are Kyle Landry, Jeremy Watson, Travis Cary, Dawson Landry and Cade LeBlanc.
The family would like to give a special thanks for the care given to their father at Golden Age of Welsh and Camelot of Crowley and the kindness and caring of Heart of Hospice, especially Valerie Charles and Kelli Hines.
