Ruth ‘Elaine’ Babineaux
The family and friends of Elaine Babineaux are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on Oct. 13, 2020.
A Mass of Christian burial for Ruth “Elaine” Babineaux, 84, will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church Monday, Oct. 19, 2020, at 11 a.m., with Reverend Keith Pellerin officiating.
Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020, from 5-8:30 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume Monday, Oct. 19, 2020, from 9 a.m. until the time of her mass.
Elaine will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery.
Elaine was born in Carencro to Leonce Credeur and Meta Credeur on Feb. 19, 1936. She was an excellent seamstress and it was an art that she practiced for many years. Elaine was a member of the Ladies Alter Society and Catholic Daughters of America. She loved God and her faith first and foremost.
Elaine was a very giving person who always put others first. She cherished her grandchildren, but most of all her “Great” grandchildren, which were the light of her life. Elaine’s legacy will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, friend and Christian who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Elaine is survived by her daughter, Kim Babineaux (Kenneth) Cormier; son, Danny Babineaux; grandchildren, Hilary (Patrick) Griffith, Adison (Ashley) Cormier and Devin (David) Douget; stepgrandson, Tyler Cormier; great-grandchildren, Liam LeBlanc, Avery Cormier, Hayes Griffith, Connor Cormier and Mary Ashlyn Griffith; and sister-in-law, Loretta (Jim) Credeur.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Curris Babineaux; parents, Leonce and Meta Credeur; son, Marty Babineaux; granddaughter, Ashlyn Laine Cormier; and her brothers, Allen, Charles, Jim and Sam Credeur.
Carrying her final resting place in will be Adison Cormier, Dr. Patrick Griffith, Tyler Cormier, Liam LeBlanc, David Douget and Chris Credeur.
Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Babineaux, Avery Cormier, Hayes Griffith, Connor Cormier and Mary Ashlyn Griffith.
