Erisa Marie Benoit
It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Erisa Marie Benoit announces her passing from this life on Aug. 6, 2021, at the age of 85.
Funeral services were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021.
A gathering of family and friends was held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings beginning Friday, Aug. 13, 2021, from 3:30-9 p.m. Visitation resumed Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, from 8 a.m. until the time of her service at 11 a.m.
Burial followed in St. Ann’s Cemetery in Elton.
Erisa was born in Lake Arthur to John Wilbert Marceaux and Melina LeBlanc Marceaux on July 29, 1936. She was a homemaker who dedicated her life to the care and needs of her family. She loved to sew, paint, garden and quilt.
Erisa was also a very faithful soul and loved talking about the Bible. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Erisa is survived by four children, Anitius Felix Benoit, Jr. (Margaret) of Jennings, Lilly Rose Guillory of Lake Arthur, Elaine Marie Breaux of Raceland and Anita Lynn Tupper of Jennings; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and her best friend, Alice Villnerve.
Erisa was preceded in death by her parents, John and Melina Marceaux; her ex-husband, Anitius Benoit, Sr.; her sons, John Patrick Benoit and Paul Joseph Benoit; her sisters, Alice Joyce Landry and Mary Jane Benoit; her brother, Adam Nelson Marceaux; her sons-in-law, Richard Guillory and Frank Breaux; her grandson, Ethan Tupper; her granddaughters, Kimberly Landry and Serenity Hanks; her great great-grandson, Cohen Vincent.
