Gotreaux of Jennings; his son, Donnie James Gotreaux of Lake Charles; his three daughters, Sonji Marie Gotreaux Clooney (Mike) of Lake Charles, Tami Lynn Gotreaux Roy of Lake Charles and Debra Abshire (Gary) of Gueydan; his six grandchildren, Wayne Ledbetter, III (Lakyn), Jordan James Roy, Savannah Hope Roy, Brittany Gotreaux Guthrie, Caleb Gotreaux and Cindy Abshire; his five great-grandchildren; and his two brothers, Early Gotreaux (Barbara) of Jennings and A.J. Gotreaux (Linda) of Jennings.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and Amar Gotreaux; his sister, Nancy Legros; and two brothers, Alcede Gotreaux and Henry Gotreaux.
