Rolland James McCown

WELSH — Rolland James McCown, 90, of Welsh, died peacefully at Cornerstone Hospital on Jan. 8, 2022.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, from 5-8 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Welsh, with funeral services to be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings.

Rolland is survived by his wife, Lorraine Hart McCown; his daughters, Cheryl Leblanc, Lynzie Boudreaux (Mark) and Rollenda McCown, all of Welsh, Ellen Shaheen (Harry) of Singer and Dr. Lezlie Cantrell (Jack) of Joplin, Mo.; stepchildren Wade Watkins (Carrie) and Paula Fox (Dominic) of Welsh and Lisa Bird (Rick) of Double Oak, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Rolland was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Sadie Lee McCown; brother Vernon; and sister Jo Ann Sullivan.
