Avia Ann Daigle
WHARTON, Texas — Avia Ann Daigle passed into the arms of the Lord on her 79th birthday, Jan. 11, 2022.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, after 9:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Church in East Bernard.
A rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m., with her funeral Mass to begin at 11 a.m.
Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home, located at 515 E. Boling Hwy. in Wharton, Texas..
She was born in Jennings to the late Marion and Anna (Benoit) Bertrand.
On Feb. 8, 1963, Avia married the love of her life, Gene Daigle, in Jennings and together they raised a son and a daughter.
Avia was a longtime resident of East Bernard, Texas. Before her retirement, Avia worked many years caring for people in the medical field as a nurse. Her family fondly remembers her as loving to cook who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Avia is survived by her son Mark and his wife Dana Daigle of East Bernard; her daughter Brandie and her husband Kurt of East Bernard; and four grandchildren, Kourtney Kelso and her fiancée Carson, Kyle Kelso, Hannah Muzik and her husband Miles, and Jenna Daigle.
Besides her parents, Avia is also preceded in death by her husband, Gene Daigle, and her brother, Marvin Bertrand.
