Rayford Buryl Wallace
A memorial service and inurnment for Mr. Rayford Buryl Wallace, 73, of Evangeline will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Southwest Louisiana Veterans cemetery, with Rev. Gary DarDar officiating.
Military honors will be provided.
The family is honoring his wishes of cremation. Cremation has been entrusted to Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.
Mr. Wallace was born Aug. 25, 1948, in Conroe, Texas, to Clinton and Joyce Cole Wallace. He moved to Louisiana as a young teen with his family and resided here ever since. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, served in the Vietnam War and retired as staff sergeant.
He spent his years of work in the banking industry connecting with the community and loved the relationships he built while helping others. When he was not at work, he enjoyed his livestock farm and visiting with family and close friends. His true pride and joy in life were his wife, three daughters and all of his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Maliwal Pantupapas Wallace of Bangkok, Thailand; three daughters, Kim (Chris) Guidry of Tee Mamou, Kelly (Nakia) Lantz of Central Square, N.Y., and Kathleen (Ryan) Cart of Crowley; nine grandchildren Cassidy, Kyle, Karlie, Gracie, Thai, Ali, Jameson, Eden and Mavrick; two sisters, Connie (Pat) Schexnayder of Egan and Karen Dietz of Iota and three brothers, Robert “Buddy” (Marcha) Wallace of Evangeline, Cecil (Rosa Gail) Wallace of Poteet, Texas, and Paul (Sue) Wallace of Iota.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother-in-law, Kevin Dwayne Dietz.
