The family and friends of Shirley Ann Perry are mourning the loss of their wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend who was called from this life on Nov. 19, 2022, at the age of 70.
Funeral services to honor Shirley’s life were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022, at 11 a.m., with Bro. Horace DelaFosse officiating.
Visitation was held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022, from 3-9 p.m. The family requested that visitation resume Wednesday, Nov. 23, from 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11 a.m.
Burial followed in Mermentau Cemetery. Shirley was born on Nov. 15, 1952, to Buford LeLeux and Eva Breaux. Shirley was a homemaker who dedicated her life to the care of her family. She loved to listen to music and dance in her younger years. Shirley also enjoyed doing arts and crafts and visiting with family and friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Shirley was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Shirley is survived by her husband of 45 years, Anthony “Tony” Perry of Sulphur; her son, Sheldon Perry of Jennings; her daughters, Evelyn Perry of Sulphur, Tabitha Ewing (Jessie) of Lake Arthur and Melissa Perry of Sulphur; her grandchildren, Kaelyn Morgan, Christian Colgin, Blake, Kaleb, Kyle and Trevor Ewing; her great-grandchildren, Camryn, Callhan and Kyla; her brother, Shelton Breaux (Vickey) of Jennings, LA; her nieces and nephews, Erica Breaux, Brad Breaux (Susan) and Michelle Hebert White, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Bryce Ewing.
