It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Jacqueline Theresa Himel announces her passing from this life on Feb. 16, 2019, at the age of 57.

Funeral services for Jacqueline will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings today, Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019, at 7 p.m., with Reverend Dean St. Cyr officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home today, Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 2:30 p.m. until the time of her service at 7 p.m.

Jacqueline was born in Lafayette to Louis Mitchell and Betty Lou Henry Trahan on May 6, 1961. She loved reading and going to church. Jacqueline will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.

Jacqueline is survived by her beloved husband of 36 years, Alfred Himel of Jennings; daughter, Tiffany Mitchell of Jennings; grandson, Justice King of Jennings; and brothers, Keith Trahan of Lafayette and Jason Mitchell of Wichita, Kan.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Mitchell and Betty H. Trahan; and grandparents, Raul and Angelle Henry.
