Emma Jean Bertrand Gary
It’s with great sadness that the family of Emma Jean Gary, 83, of Jennings announces her passing from her earthly life on March 16, 2019.
A memorial graveside service will be announced at a later date.
Emma was born in Rosenberg, Texas, to Fredria Bertrand and Rozena Fruge Bertrand on Nov. 2, 1935. Emma loved caring for others, which her career as a licensed practical nurse allowed her to do. She loved to crochet, knit and paint in her spare time. But Emma especially loved the time she was able to spend with her family and friends. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Emma leaves behind to cherish her memories her two sons, Louie Paul Gary (Diane) of Crowley and Glen Gary of Evangeline; her daughter, Myra Gary Sarver of Jennings; her three sisters, Nancy Bertrand, Francis Babin and Margaret Fontenot; her nine grandchildren, Andre Gary Hoffpauir (Craig) of Crowley, Brant Michael Gary (Amy) of Spring, Texas, Courtney Gary Jones (Steven) of Cypress, Texas, Paul Jesus Verdugo of Broussard, Paula Gary Kumar (Raj) of Frisco, Texas, Nancy Lee Sarver of Crowley, Lana Rae Sarver of Iota, Zachary Mims Sarver of Crowley and Peyton Layne Chaisson of Evangeline; her nine great-grandchildren, Mallory (Benjamin), Allison (Austin), Annalyce, Luke, Audrey, Connor, Blythe, Micah and Reagan; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Emma now rejoices in heaven with the family that went before her, including her parents, Fredria and Rozena Bertrand; her brothers, Fredria “Jr” Bertrand and Michael Bertrand; her sister, Patricia Ann “Pat” Bertrand; and her daughter-in-law, Carolyn Gary.
The family of Emma would like to extend a special thanks to Jeff Davis Living Center and La. Hospice and Palliative Care for the wonderful care that they bestowed upon her in her time of need.
