Phyllis, known as “Ms. Elvis,” died at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019, in Jeff Davis Living Center.
She was born in Jennings and was a three-year resident of Jeff Davis Living Center. Phyllis loved working with the activities director and staff. She was an honorary member of Our Lady Help of Christians Ladies Altar Society. Phyllis was an avid Elvis fan and would not be surprised if she is leading the fan club in heaven. Phyllis never met a stranger and always had kind words for everyone. The world can take a page from her book.
Survivors include three sisters and brother-in-law, Gertrude Dupont of Midland, Judy Stubbs and Dot (John) Smith of Jennings; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry (Janice) Benoit of Jennings and Randy (Janet) Benoit of Iota; numerous nieces and nephews; and several greatnieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmond and Olite Hoffpauir Benoit.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Jeff Davis Living Center and staff and Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care for the treatment they gave to Phyllis and family. She loved every one of you.
