JPD: Burglary suspect could be connected to other crimes

A suspect wanted for a vehicle burglary on Airport Road is currently in custody and being investigated for possible connection to other crimes within the city.

Andy Dale Ingram, 40, of Jennings, was located this week and charged with simple burglary after initially evading authorities at the scene of the crime.

Funeral services for Mr. Victor Tauzin III, 95, of Jennings will be held Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, at 10 a.m. in Miguez Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Micky Istre officiating.

Visitation for Mr. Tauzin will begin Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019, from 4:30-8 p.m., and will continue Monday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Coushatta conference to discuss business opportunities

ELTON – The Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana and Southern University Law Center are hosting and sponsoring the Second Annual All Roads Lead to Chaco Canyon Conference at the Coushatta Casino Resort in Kinder March 13-15, 2019.

The conference, centered on creating business opportunities and trade partnerships in Indian Country, was founded and is being organized by Adam Crepelle, professor of law at Southern University Law Center, and Joseph Austin, attorney and CEO of Olea, Solórzano and Austin. Both men have extensive knowledge in Indian law and tribal economic development.
