Drug cures and preventatives for many forms of cancer and heart disease will be found "by the year 2000, and probably sooner," a pharmaceutical company spokesman predicted here yesterday.
Addressing the Jennings Rotary Club at the Zigler Hotel, Robert E. Youngblood, local representative of the Mead Johnson Laboratories, said the prescription drug industry bases its optimism on the fact that in the last 20 years America has already introduced "more effective new drugs to combat or cure illness than all the rest of the nations in the world combined."
