4 LOCAL MEN MISSING IN KOREA ACTION

The War Department has announced that four area Army men have been reported missing in action in the Korean War.

Evangeline Marine is cited posthumously

EVANGELINE - Lance Corporal Ellias Boullion, U.S. Marine Corps, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Boullion of Evangeline and a former member of Company K, Third Battalion, 24th Marines, Lafayette, has been posthumously awarded the Bronz Star Medal with Combat "V" and cited by the Secretary of the Navy in recognition of heroism displayed in action in Viet Nam.

Body of Morrish, last of war dead, to arrive here Friday

The body of Sgt. T.H. (Jack) Morrish, who fell in a bombing mission over Bulgaria, will arrive here at 3:30 Friday afternoon over the Southern Pacific. He is the last of the Jeff Davis war dead slated to be brought home for reinterment.

Buffet business down due to COVID-19

All-you-can-eat buffets may now be a thing of the past due to concerns of spreading the coronavirus. Local restaurants are feeling the impact because of the pandemic.

“We are just starting to open back up now and everything is so different than in the past,” said Mr. Gatti’s Pizza general manager Cassandra Powell. “Our main attraction was the buffet, which is not currently an option. We are only offering dine-in service or drive through orders.”

She said so many people are surprised when they walk in and there is no pizza out on the buffet bar.

(AP) — With forecasters predicting another intense Atlantic hurricane season with as many as 13 to 19 named storms, disaster preparedness experts say it’s critically important for people in evacuation zones to plan to stay with friends or family, rather than end up in shelters during the coronavirus pandemic.
