The Jeff Davis Parish Libraries continue to present informational learning programs in a virtual format. After searching for new ideas, the staff came up with the Cooking with Librarians program.
I’ve gotten a few letters from readers over the past couple of weeks who have asked me – some more politely and in publishable terms than others – if I have anything nice to say about the Trump administration at all.
President Trump has said many times that voting by mail – which will play a big role in this November’s presidential election – is vulnerable to fraud. “There is tremendous evidence of fraud whenever you have mail-in ballots,” Trump has noted. The November election, he added, “will be, in my opinion, the most corrupt election in the history of our country.”

COVID-19 has greatly impacted our world, especially our schools. This upcoming school year will introduce children in Jeff Davis Parish to staggered schedules, hybrid learning, social distancing and mask-wearing. Others will be spending their first time doing online learning exclusively while some will find themselves homeschooled by mom and dad.
