Governor issues mask mandate

Governor John Bel Edwards announced a mandatory mask requirement for Louisiana and ordered bars in the state closed to on-premises consumption, as the number of COVID-19 cases continues to increase. Both indoor and outdoor social gatherings must be limited to a total of 50 people. New mandates became effective at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, July 13.

Welsh Enrichment Project aims to honor citizens, beautify town

WELSH - A community enrichment project here is looking to raise funds to purchase trees that will be planted in town parks to honor late citizens.

Court proceedings continue in Lake Arthur

LAKE ARTHUR-According to Lake Arthur City Hall staff, court proceedings resumed in June, once the Judicial System gave the approval as the second phase of reopening began. The city court had previously been closed during the months of April and May due to the coronavirus pandemic.
