Memorial Day Ceremony Held

A Memorial Day ceremony was held at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery on May 31. The American Legion Post 19 Honor Guard fired three volleys during the ceremony. The Honor Guard members included Tyler Schexnyder, Larry Guidry, Darrell Landry, Dennis Langley, Bill Caraway, Horace Naquin and Glenn McFarlain. Cernek elected Chairman of Coushatta Tribe

ELTON – After serving on the Tribal Council of the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana for eight years, Jonathan Cernek will now be known as Chairman after his election win last week. Cernek collected 58 percent of the votes to unseat current Chairman David Sickey.
