LAKE ARTHUR — The Lake Arthur boys and girls basketball teams celebrated Senior Night Tuesday, and both claimed wins over their parish rivals Welsh. The Lady Tigers opened the game with a 10-0 run enroute to their 75-34 win over the Lady Greyhounds. In the boys game, after the Greyhounds took an 8-2 lead, the Tigers went on an 18-point run and never trailed again in their 65-27 win.

Lady Hornets blister No. 4 Midland, 90-40

HATHAWAY – The No. 1-ranked Hathaway Lady Hornets continued their dominance of district 6-B play Tuesday night with a 90-40 demolition of No. 4 Midland at Charles Groth Gymnasium. The win moves the topranked Lady Hornets out to 27-4 overall, 6-0 in league play heading into their final two regular season contests of the season. Senior sharp shooter Chloey Guidry hit a milestone Tuesday night by scoring her 3,000th career point, and the Lady Hornets placed five players in double figures in the win. Hathaway was able to put the game to bed right off the bat as they raced out to a 33-5 advantage in the opening period of play and never looked back in claiming the 50-point win over the No. 4 Lady Rebels. Midland fell to 20-11 overall with the loss.

Jennings runs past Lady Jackets, 57-36

IOWA – The No. 4-ranked Jennings Lady Bulldogs made quick work of the Iowa Lady Jackets on the road Tuesday night by claiming a 57-36 win. The victory moved the Lady Dogs out to 23-7 on the season, 5-2 in district 4-3A play. Jennings sits in second in 4-3A behind the powerful St. Louis Lady Saints. Jennings will welcome in LCCP for another league match-up tonight before closing the season next week with games against South Beauregard and Westlake.

LACASSINE – The Lacassine Cardinals made it 16 games in a row on Tuesday night by taking down the rival Bell City Bruins by a final of 67-56 at John Juneau Gymnasium. The win moves the No.4 Cardinals out to 27-5 overall, 7-0 in district 6-B action. Lacassine overcame an early first quarter deficit to pull away from the Bruins, and remain in the Top-4 of the Class B polls. The Cards placed five players in double figures in the win, with Seth Bourgeois leading the way with a team-high 16.

No. 10 Lady Cards sweep through Bell City, 39-29

LACASSINE – The No.10-ranked Lacassine Lady Cardinals took down the Bell City Lady Bruins in a low-scoring slugfest at John Juneau Gymnasium Tuesday night by a final of 39-29. The win allowed the Lady Cards to up their overall record to 16-12, 3-2 in district 6-B play. Lacassine will be back in action tonight they head down the road to take on the No. 1 Hathaway Lady Hornets in a parish shootout. The Lady Cards erased a one-point first quarter deficit by outscoring the Lady Bruins in each of the three following periods following that. Anna Lindeman was able to lead Lacassine in the scoring department with her 12 points, with all of them coming on 3-point jumpers.
