Jeff Davis School Board office announced Monday school will be closed today due to the potential for hazardous weather conditions predicted from approximately 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents are encouraged to be alert as predictions are calling for very high winds, heavy downpours flash flooding and possible tornadic activity.

ROV: Early voter turnout high

Voter turnout for the March 26 election was high, with around 14 percent of eligible voters casting their ballots during the early voting period from Oct. 30 through Nov. 6.
