PORT ALLEN — Jefferson Davis Parish 4H Club Shooting Sport members traveled to Port Allen on Thursday for the 2022 Southern Regional Shotgun Modified Trap Competition.
The Jennings Bulldogs made it five straight Monday night by hammering the Central Catholic Eagles 10-0 in six innings at Danny Reed Field in a non-district clash. The big win moved the Dogs up to 10-11 overall, but more importantly Jennings has found its way into the Top-10 in 3A following the victory. The Dogs jumped three spots to No. 10 going into their Tuesday league showdown with the South Beauregard Knights. Ethan Jardell and John Mason Futch combined to toss a one-hitter against the Eagles Monday night, while the Jennings bats pounded out seven hits to keep their streak alive.
After being elected in March with nearly 60 percent of the vote as the parish’s lead prosecutor, Jeff Davis Parish District Attorney Lauren Heinen was sworn in Tuesday afternoon at the parish courthouse, surrounded by colleagues, friends and family.
