CONSTRUCTION STARTS ON ‘LIVING SHORELINE’ NEAR N.O.

BATON ROUGE (AP) — Louisiana has begun construction of a $67 million project to create miles (kilometers) of oyster reefs to protect the shoreline in a New Orleans suburb.

LHS bids farewell to seniors

LACASSINE — In a ceremony held at John Juneau Gymnasium on Thursday, Lacassine High School bid farewell to 43 graduating seniors in their 2022 commencement exercises. Distinguished guests, presenters and staff of Lacassine High School handed out more than $130,000 in scholarship awards to a host of students who plan on advancing their education at the collegiate level.

Ella Segura of Jennings recently won the state championship in the 1600 and 3200 meters at the Class 3A State Track Meet held at LSU. Segura was also named the Class 3A Outstanding Athlete at the meet, and helped guide her St. Louis Lady Saints to a 3A state championship as a team.
