A 30-year law enforcement veteran was laid to rest this week and escorted by dozens of area officials, officers, deputies and emergency personnel. Funeral services for former Jeff Davis Sheriff’s Deputy Larry L. Dupuis (left) were held Thursday with burial following in Mermentau Memorial Cemetery. Dupuis started working at the sheriff’s office in 1992 and was eventually promoted to the second-in-command post of chief deputy.

‘Disturbing’: Experts troubled by Canada’s euthanasia laws
