Local church holds annual pinewood derby

Local children recently had the opportunity to design and create wooden cars to compete in an annual race.

On Friday, Feb. 24, Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office (JDSO) deputies assisted Jennings Police Department (JPD) with a traffic stop on I-10 Eastbound. Upon entering the interstate at milepost 54, deputies observed a gray Chevrolet Malibu passing the patrol unit, driving 94 miles an hour in a posted 70-mile-perhour zone.
