NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Louisiana economic officials say a global software firm is relocating its U.S. headquarters from Delaware to New Orleans. The agency said the move would add at least 50 new jobs with an average annual salary of $85,000 to the New Orleans workforce.

Fireworks cause fire in Iota

IOTA — A fire broke out in Iota after a family’s Fourth of July mishap sent a firework directly into a neighbor’s tree. The concerned neighbors noticed one of their trees was smoking and immediately contacted the Iota Fire Department. By the time firefighters arrived at the scene at approximately 9:30 p.m., the tree was fully engulfed in flames. The fire department was able to extinguish the tree within 10 minutes of arrival.
