Police Jury hires new parish administrator

The Jeff Davis Parish Police Jury offered Ben Boudreaux of Jennings the newly created position of Parish Administrator during a recent agenda meeting. Boudreaux, pictured with wife, Lindsey, and their children Emily, Kate and Luke, accepted the offer with his family present amid a full house Wednesday night.

JENNINGS — In loving memory, we announce the passing of Olivana Berton Hale Hebert on May 6, 2024 at the age of 99. Olivana was born June 29, 1924 in the town of McRae, Ark., the daughter of Richard and Rose Hale. She was preceded in her passing by a sister Owana (Mickey) Fagan and a brother R.B. Faberlee (Buddy) Hale.

Pierrotti named interim mayor

ELTON — The council here unanimously agreed to name one of their own as the new head of the Town of Elton this week.

Councilman Mike Pierrotti was selected Wednesday to be interim mayor of Elton after the position was deemed vacated by the Secretary of State. In the April 27 election, a majority of the electorate voted to recall Kesia Lemoine as the mayor of the Town of Elton. As a result of the election, a vacancy was created in that office as of May 7. The council was then given 20 days to select the person who would fill the position until a special election could be called.

Local housing authority in great financial shape

LAKE ARTHUR — The housing authority here showed healthy finances and no instances of noncompliance during its annual audit.
