June is National Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month. This month is meant to bring public awareness and knowledge to what PTSD is, lower and eliminate the stigmas associated with PTSD and bring light to the invisible wounds that individuals suffer with because of past traumas.
PTSD is a disorder that individuals can develop after experiencing a trauma, be it mental or physical. PTSD can result in changes of mood, isolation or trouble sleeping, and these are only a few of the symptoms that individuals with PTSD can experience.
