CHEATER SUED FOR DIVORCE, HALF OF PROPERTY

Suit for divorce and half the property of the defendant was brought in district court yesterday by Mrs. Audrie Macera Lacour against Gabe Lacour, Jennings merchant. The complaint, which was filed by attorneys Pugh and Buatt, sets out that the couple married on December 15, 1905.

Two boys, formerly of Jennings, have a narrow escape from death

Walter Morse tells quite an interesting story this morning of two young men who formerly made Jennings their home, Fred and Cossions Lewis by name, and their narrow escape from death by the bursting of a gas pipe in the room where they were sleeping. The young gentlemen operate a store in one of the suburbs of Chicago and for heating their apartments, they use a gas stove. On the night of Christmas Eve they turned out the stove but failed to shut off the gas feed and the large rubber tube through which the gas is fed bursted.
