Bennett James Hanks

Mr. Bennett James Hanks, 69, of Jennings passed away Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at his residence.

A visitation for Mr. Hanks was held Monday, Oct. 4, from 3-9 p.m., with cremation to follow.

He was born in Jennings to Willard and Alice Broussard Hanks on July 5, 1952.

After his high school graduation, he went to work as a welder in the construction industry. Mr. Hanks enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool and golf.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Bernadine “Denny” Viator Hanks; daughter, Eve Gott of Basile; son, Chris (Heather) Hanks of Jennings; sister Benita (John) LeGros of Roanoke; six grandchildren, Elissa, Kylie, Cameron, Gvokia Chloey and Gvohnne; and great-grandchildren, Holden, Austyn, Jaxon, Gabbie, Kayden and Remi.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Tiffany Lehman; and three grandchildren, Madison, Jayce and Taylor.
