Evelyn ‘Pal’ Johnson
Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn “Pal” Johnson, 88, of Jennings will be held today, Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, in First Pentecostal Church of Jennings at 10 a.m., with Rev. James Townley officiating.
Visitation for Mrs. Johnson was held from 2-9 p.m. Monday at Miguez Funeral Home and will resume at the church today, Tuesday, from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Burial will follow in Bluff Cemetery in Evangeline.
Mrs. Johnson was a blessing to everyone she came in contact with and was always praying for those in need. She was so loved that she became everyone’s “MawMaw.” She didn’t just go to church; she lived her church. She was quick-witted and a joy to all who met her. Mrs. Johnson made wedding cakes for over 50 years.
She is survived by one son, Glenn (Julie) Johnson of Evangeline; two sisters, Lucille “DeeDee” Stoute of Evangeline and Judy Fuselier of Lake Charles; three brothers, Lynn Simar and Jay Simar of Evangeline and Milton Simar of Iota; 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; and her very special friend, Billie Gybson of Silsbee, Texas.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Hilton Johnson; her parents, Louis Simar and Ada Cooley Goad; two daughters, Brenda Schexneider and Katherine Johnson; and two sons, Jeffry Johnson and Christopher Johnson.
