Ethel ‘Rita’ Bourque Hardy

WELSH - Ethel “Rita” Bourque Hardy, 82, of Welsh passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Welsh, with Father Alan Trouille officiating.

Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. Saturday at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh, with a Rosary at 5 p.m. Visitation will resume from noon until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Welsh.

Rita was known as being a loving, selfless, caring and a classy lady who never met a stranger. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, cooking and visiting with her family and friends. Her legacy of love, compassion and empathy for others will be carried on by her loved ones.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 57 years, Harry James Hardy; daughter, Angela Marie Hardy Carrington; and grandson, Mason Lee Joseph Carrington, all of Welsh.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Edna Bourque; and her brothers, Claude Bourque, Clarence Lee Bourque, George A. Bourque, Alfred J. Bourque, Lala Bourque and Lloyd Bourque.
