Eudna Fontenot Roberie

Funeral services for Eudna Fontenot Roberie, 91, of Jennings will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 3 p.m., with Reverend Charles McMillin officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home beginning on Monday, June 25, 2018, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of her funeral service.

Eudna will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery following her service.

Eudna was born in Mamou on Oct. 27, 1926, to Noah Fontenot and Ezia Soileau Fontenot. She was called to her Heavenly Father on June 23, 2018.

Eudna worked as a nurse’s aide at Jennings Guest House for many years. She loved to spend time outside crabbing, fishing and gardening. Eudna also loved doing housework and cooking. Mostly she treasured family gatherings where she was able to spend time with her family, which she loved so dearly. She will be remembered by her smile that would light up any room that she entered. Eudna was a kind and loving person. she will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved her.

Eudna is survived by her sons, Leo (Linda) Roberie, Jr. of Lake Arthur and Ray (Pattie Clayton) Roberie of LafayetteA; five grandchildren, Troy Wayne, James Benoit, Donald Kent, Jonathan Ray and Justin Ryan; and numerous great and great great-grandchildren.

Eudna was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Ezia S. Fontenot; her husband, Leo Roberie, Sr.; daughter, Mavis Ann Cormier; grandchildren, Ronald Brent Roberie, David Blane Benoit and Preston Lee Benoit; six brothers, Paul, Alicide, Melvin, Shelby, Curzy and Willard Fontenot; and a sister, Yvonne Guillory
