Floyd Vincent LaFleur
The family and friends of Floyd Vincent LaFleur are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life at the age of 83 on Nov. 13, 2018, at 7:20 p.m., surrounded by his loving family.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Floyd LaFleur will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jennings on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, at 2:30 p.m., with Father Susil Fernando officiating.
Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, from 9 a.m. until the time of his funeral Mass. A rosary will be recited by the Catholic Daughters of America at 1 p.m.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Floyd was born in Mamou to Henry and Ena McCauly LaFleur on Nov. 7, 1935. Floyd worked and owned an auto parts shop. He loved to play music and work in his garden. He especially loved hunting and fishing. Floyd was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Floyd is survived by his beloved wife of 65 beautiful years, Betty Guillory LaFleur of Jennings; two sons, Joey LaFleur of Hathaway and Jamie (Janine) LaFleur of Lafayette; three daughters, Lynn (Rod) McCown of Welsh, Shelly (Rudy) Gatte of Iota and Angie (Mark) Petry of Jennings; 16 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ena LaFleur; sister, Fern Comeaux; two grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth LaFleur and Blake McCown; and daughter-in-law, Netta LaFleur.
Carrying Floyd to his final resting place in Calvary Cemetery Cody McCown, Scott McCown, Josh Gatte, B.J.Gatte, Matt Gatte, Zach LaFleur, Gabe Petry and Jacob LaFleur.
