Herbert Lee LeBlanc
It’s with great sadness and the heaviest of hearts that the family of Herbert Lee LeBlanc announces his passing from his earthly life on Dec. 4, 2018, at the age of 86.
Herbert’s family will hold his funeral services at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Dec. 6, 2018, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Kevin Colson officiating.
A gathering of family and friends was held Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, from 6-10 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, from 8 a.m. until the time of his service.
Burial will follow in Mermentau Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife.
Herbert was born in Mermentau to Ulgere LeBlanc and Edmae Guidry LeBlanc on Oct. 19, 1932. He served our country honorably in the U.S. Army. Herbert loved working on lawn mowers and mowing his grass, planting and working in his garden, as well as tending to farm animals. He also loved making boudin and sausage. His greatest joy was the time he was able to spend with his family, especially at Christmas time. Herbert was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Herbert is survived by his two sons, Randle Lee LeBlanc (Jodean) of San Antonio, Texas, and Linsey Troy LeBlanc (Letty Breaux) of Sulphur; his three daughters, Connie Lyn Henry (Eric) of Lyons Point, Debra Ann Soileau (Gustave) of Jennings and Marlene Kay LeJeune (Ray) of Mermentau; his 10 grandchildren, Coy, Katie, Joni, Ricky, Sheila, Keith, Jessica, Melissa, Amber and Heidi; his two stepgrandchildren, Tiffany and Coree; his 28 great-grandchildren; and his two great great-grandchildren.
Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, Ulger and Adma LeBlanc; his beloved wife, Marilyn S. LeBlanc; his four brothers, Exall LeBlanc, Aubrey LeBlanc, Hobbie LeBlanc and Jimmy LeBlanc; and his sister, Bulen Blanchard.
Carrying Herbert to his final resting place in Mermentau Cemetery will be Randy Fontenot, Edward Boudreaux, Caleb Hendry, Keith LeBlanc and Ricky Soileau. Honorary pallbearer will be Conrad Landry.
