Inez Swier Crader

It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Inez Swier Crader announces her passing from this life on Oct. 25, 2018 at the age of 76.

Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, at 1:30 p.m.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 29, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of her service at 1:30 p.m.

Inez will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery.

Inez was born in Jennings to Joseph Swier and Lillian Touchet Swier on Feb. 1, 1942. She worked as a caregiver and dedicated her life to caring for her family. Inez also loved the outdoors, especially when she was planting flowers or tending to her gardening. Inez was a kind and loving person and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Inez is survived by her four stepsons, Jonathon Schexneider of Jennings, Bobby Reed of Crowley, Chris Racca of Morse and Jason Abshire of Morse; three stepdaughters, Carla Doucet and Renee LaCombe, both of Jennings, and Amy Racca of Morse; two brothers, Crawford Swier (Charline) of Hackberry and Frank Swier (Clara) of Jennings; one sister, Clara Swier Kelly of Eldorado, Ill.; 15 stepgrandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Rita Hewett (Tommy) of Evangeline.

Inez was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lillian Swier; her beloved husband, Dewey Crader; stepson, Timmy Ryder; two brothers, Heyward “Shorty” Swier and Woodrow Swier; and her sister, Geraldine Swier Schexneider.

The family of Inez would like to send a special thanks to Sarah Foreman and all the nurses at Jennings American Legion Hospital for the special care and love that they showed her in her time of need.
