LAKE ARTHUR โ Funeral services for James Lee Price, 86 of Lake Arthur will be held at First Baptist Church in Lake Arthur at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2022, with Rev. Jarred Thomas officiating.
A gathering of family and friends was held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 4:30-9 p.m. Visitation will resume today, Sunday, April 10, 2022, from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Visitation will then resume at First Baptist Church from noon until the time of his service at 2 p.m.
The family of Mr. Price is honoring his wishes of cremation following his services.
James Lee Price was born on July 13, 1935, to Johnny Marlin Price, Sr., and Lonie Guidry Price.
He was called from this earthly life by his Heavenly Father on April 7, 2022.
He served our country honorably in the U.S. Army. James loved the outdoors, being out on the boat, fishing, building crabs cages and he also loved cooking for his family, as well as going out to eat. Most of all, James loved spending time playing with his grandchildren and making memories with his family. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara J. Price of Lake Arthur; his son, Marlin James Price (Cheryl) of Lake Arthur; his daughters, Cathleen Daniel of Lake Arthur, Nancy Hunt (Bryan) of Lafayette and Peggy Vincent of Lake Arthur; 10 grandchildren, Charlie, Keagon, Dana, Mandi, Chris, Nicholas, Tiffaney, Katie, Daniel, Scott, Glia, Rachael, Kristen and Kimberly; 15 great-grandchildren; his brother, Franklin (Norma) Price; his sister-in-law, Elma Price and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Loni Price; four brothers, Warren, Alvin, Edwin and Johnnie Price, Jr., and his sisters, Elva Price and Lana Wilhite.
