James Romero
Funeral services for Mr. James Romero, 84, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, in Miguez Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating. Funeral home visitation will be held from 3:30-9 p.m. Friday and will continue from 8 a.m. Saturday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Romero died at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018, in Acadia General Hospital. Mr. Romero was born in Morse and was a resident of Crowley. He was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. He loved to fish, hunt, garden and bird watch. Survivors include four daughter, Catherine Benoit, Carla Hebert, Connie Romero of Crowley and Karen (Keith) Matt of Lake Arthur; one son, James Romero, Jr.of Morse; one sister, Elaine Young of Jennings; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louel “Felix” and Louise Stutes Romero; his wife, Shirley Crochet Romero; one son, Michael Romero; four sisters, Mary Benoit, Shirlene Broussard, Yvonne Swier and Linda Henderson; and one brother, Amos Romero.
